feeling so out of place in this world(how I wish there were others to tryout)
. . . . .
isn't religion just another MLM scheme?
. . . . .
it's easy to forget that parents are also individuals.
. . . . .
climate and environment and conflict with going vegan, meat just tastes so good. also in Kenya it's not easy nor affordable, but can maybe do vegetarian, but incorporated options such as lentils and reduced my eggs, still a long way to go.
. . . . .
women and girls are their own individual person and autonomous human beings and they don't have to be related to or know someone for men to address GBV and femicide and the fact that men are the cause of it to begin with.
. . . . .
the beginning of the end. the end of the beginning. i kinda like 'the end of the beginning'. sounds ominous, i know, i guess it's because 'beginnings' are generally seen to be a good thing, in mostly positive connotations but i like to think it's similar to the word 'consequences' - meaning it can be either positive or negative, from a point of light or darkness(i like me some darkness 😄). there are some beginnings that should have had a swift end to them and now, unfortunately, we are far from the beginning of their ends(chessy AF, i know 😅). also wishing for an end may be a star too distant so i guess when i think about it... some things should never have had a beginning in the first place.
. . . . .
looking at things from your perspective and not realising or even knowing just how much someone has tried and tried their best but nothing is happening or changing.
. . . . .
recognising, unlearning, relearning, learning a new: some are so deep in the subconscious psyche, not sure if can unlearn them in time..
. . . . .
mob/societal/colonial/defeatist mentality on certain subjects/topics instead of critical thinking and analysis. instead of trying to understand and find a way to do something or say something that challenges such thinking/norms.
. . . . .
okay, so things got me thinking, like what would that look like - a world where things are better? this of course is a vast and complex subject that i have very little experience in(working on it) but i keep coming back to it every now and then, so i thought i'd see what i could come up with as a simple thought exercise. i figured beginning with basic needs would be a decent place to start, considering that we all need them as human beings and therefore should always be available and accessible to everyone. so then the question is.. how can all individuals and households be self sufficient and not want for basic needs? What would that entail? every individual and household to have their own so as to make their own, like everyone must have their own means of production right?
. . . . .
how are there levels of respect and accountability? shouldn't it just be respect and accountability? like, are there tiers to this? "you should be more respectful or you should be more accountable". it's either you're respectful and accountable or not, there shouldn't be levels to it because that leaves room for all manner of fuckery and i'm not saying everyone and everything deserves our respect or to be accountable but make it clear if it is or isn't the case - hoping that one can also be truthful with themselves, a whole other point to address. although i find 'respect' having being weaponised in society, used to control, manipulate and probably having lost its original point/meaning so there's already baggage coming with it that may render it moot to begin with but either way, i think we need to make it clear which it is.
. . . . .
"that's life" - nah fellow human, fuck that! i saw a post that said something along the lines of "life isn't supposed to be comfortable".. it's wild how conditioned we are to suffering and being treated like shit by other fellow humans, not nature or the cycle of life, other fucking humans and then say things like "that's life" and continue going about your day of suffering - nah fellow human, fuck that!
. . . . .
out of sight out of mind, when not affected by bad governance and incompetence, you don't bother doing anything about it. no power, no water, health care, security etc..
. . . . .
why are there 'haves and have nots? nobody should have advantages or privileges because non of this should be a competition to begin with. once something becomes a competition there is always the need to have more, push further and always win, regardless of the cost that this adds into the already vast cesspit that is 'living'. continuing as if this is okay just doesn't make sense, unless you look at it from the perspective that we do enjoy the competition and revel in its spoils and the ruin we leave behind as a result. after all, the policy of 'scorched earth' is of our making - letting it all burn for the sake of maintaining your position. it's really messed up how we reward narcissism and collective self-importance. "gotta lookout for me and mine" cannot be how we view things, if we cannot view things through a lens of community then we are well on our way to furthering the social construct of 'haves and have nots' with devastating results in tow.
. . . . .
fighting my own insecurities but also trying to be honest about them and working on those that i can.. fuckin' hell, they are many..😅
. . . . .
a lot of the world is built on systems of oppression and hate, therefore what comes after is considered 'the norm' and how a lot of that leans into who we are, how we interact and view others and the world in general..
. . . . .
having children just so that you can tick a box is wild AF, these are human beings you're talking about, not some milestone to be achieved.. ffs
. . . . .
uh uh.. nah.. this shit is too far gone, there's no way to build on top of this, a total and complete collapse is necessary because.. wtf!
. . . . .
anger, frustration and despair all accumulating to chaos - both internal and external..
. . . . .
power dynamics will always be present, privilege will always be present, therefore so will ignorance, be mindful of where people are at and from..
. . . . .
“teach me how to dookie, teach me teach me how to dookie” 😄
. . . . .
the 'law', as it is, only works for the bourgeoisie, just as it was intended to, and until these systems are dismantled and abolished, there is absolutely nothing that will ever change for the betterment of the people.. 'change' whilst within these systems is nothing but a facade - we will always be oppressed.
. . . . .
“PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!” 😄
. . . . .
biases, double standards and judging are all going to be present, being honest about them and working on not acting on them is where it's at, it's not easy but it really makes a difference..
. . . . .
been on my mind that, multiple points of teaching/learning on how to think and the practice of it are vital, especially in the ever hostile environment towards free and critical thinking..
as an example: how community would gather and converse..
all manner of teaching and thought would be expressed, shared and also passed down - including the process of thinking and how to practice it in various ways..
and this is being done, which is awesome to see because, in my case, if it weren't for their continuous efforts, i'd probably still be stuck at the surface because.. doing this alone is soo not a plan.. 😅
. . . . .
a lifetime in a trickle, spilling down the drain, descending, descending
. . . . .
you could have all the love in the world, and still not want to exist..
. . . . .
what an opp CSR is. lol.. capitalist entities do not care about justice and equity, that's like mixing water and oil, it will never work, capitalist entities have and always will be tools of oppression..
. . . . .
thinking on death and what that means for those left behind..
but also the thought of not existing is like, really nice.. 🙃
i dunno, i guess we'll think on it tomorrow..
. . . . .
reforms and legislation are a flimsy band-aid as they can be changed every 4-5 years - and usually are..
they only prolong the continuous existence of a failed system disguised as "change and progress"..
a system designed to fail, simply shouldn't exist..
. . . . .
i hope it's becoming clearer that anything to do with the military, especially when it comes to liberation, is not a good idea..
the military is designed as a tool of oppression and subjugation, it never ends well..
. . . . .
yani all these so called 'leaders' all have a similar 10-point plan on how to destroy their respective countries..
because, there ain't no way this fuckery isn't deliberate..
. . . . .
the PRC thrives on capitalism, the USSR collapsed in 1991, the DPRK has been run by one patriarchal family since 1948..
the whole is necessary, not just the parts, and it does no good to romanticise them..
all states, including 'democratic' ones, will inevitably fail because governance, is a brittle thing..
. . . . .
you're not truly fighting oppression if you're not fighting the patriarchy as well..
a reality men choose not to address and confront in the fight for liberation - you cannot fight one and not the other, they are all connected..
it is all of the people, not some of the people..
. . . . .
"chukua kura" shouldn't be the only response, if one at all, people have been voting for decades and the shit is still shit..
if a system doesn't work, then it simply shouldn't exist and electoral politics will always fail - look for community and liberation, not governance..
. . . . .
misogyny and bigotry in Kenya is so prevalent that men would rather continually suffer and die under oppression, than address their participation and want for that very oppression upon others - it makes no fucking sense bro, wake the fuck up!
the fight for collective liberation, is where it's at..
. . . . .
just remembered having a conversation with a kid about Halloween and they said: "Halloween is the devil's birthday"
me: "oh, why do you say that?"
kid: "that's what my parent told me"
religion's impact on children is a mess..
. . . . .
to capitalism and its entities, you are nothing but a number on a piece of paper, which may as well be stapled to your ear..
you do not matter, nor do you exist as a person - just a number on a spreadsheet to be crunched..
think on how to reduce your participation in these oppressive systems, and ultimately work towards abolishing them..
. . . . .
lakini isn't bride price literally the selling and buying of women and girls(child marriage is fucked up), and then they being held hostage/slaves because of it..
there's nothing good about any of it, it's all fucked, and all of this shit shouldn't exist bana..
. . . . .
it's all fucked and it's all a mess, lakini there has to be a clear message for them to know that it's not right and that you ain't about that..
otherwise they're happy seeing you continuing to participate in the bullshit and it also looks like you're alright with it..
send that message and make sure it lands..
. . . . .
just remembered Elizabeth is dead and now her family is falling apart in real-time..
witnessing the coloniser's downfall is a beautiful thing and may they all join her as well..
. . . . .
still gets me how two tiny ass cells come together to eventually become a tiny human that has been developing inside another human for upto 9 months.. like, yoh, whaaaaa.. 😮
i really enjoyed biology growing up, the human body is a marvel at times..
. . . . .
been thinking about Myanmar and Afghanistan..
yani the way the world is under violence and oppression from imperialists, colonial puppets and predominantly men in power..
. . . . .
"the idea/philosophy, not the person"
but in politics we cannot separate the two, and in the end all that will be remembered is their actions, which does no good for the philosophy..
i don't now, like, if you say you are the thing, then be the thing because otherwise you're just fucking with people and their lives..
we can't help believing in others, we need each other and we need more people who keep at it, like, no capitulation - stand for something and stand on that shit bana..
. . . . .
the people of East Africa are going through it, na the xenophobia/bigotry is wild sababu community and collective liberation is where we should be focusing on pamoja..
